Memories

"The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch" (Acts 11:26).  Their commitment to Jesus was so plain and transparent that those around them examined their lives and saw Christ living in them.  The church is here for the purpose of helping others, and in the process, we ourselves become "little Christs."  Becoming reflections of Jesus transformation that God works in the lives of men.  He calls us from the world to walk in His will and be driven by His desire.  As we surrender to His Lordship and allow Him to shape every part of who we are, our lives will begin to radiate with the change that is transforming our hearts.

Jesus Christ's death on the cross is understood as the great greatest sacrifice of all with his death on the cross for the sins of humanity.  This sacrifice is seen as the ultimate sacrifice of any as he takes the punishment of for the sins of others upon himself, thus satisfying God's justice and providing a path to forgiveness and reconciliation for those who believe.  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Christ's church is guided by the Holy Spirit.  He leaves a distinctive mark among the body of believers.  The work of God is evident in their lives.  Christians make room for the Lord to move among them, and they respond to the transformation God brings to their lives.  His movement in their lives molds them to reflect the nature of Jesus.  As Christians , we must recognize our dependence on the Word of God. A hunger for His Word must be one our most defining characteristics.  It gives us strength and direction.  It lights a path that leads us into the presence of the Lord.  it feeds our souls and transforms our lives to reflect the holy character of God.

"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
